How to Apply Eyeliner? Eyeliner can really make your eyes stand out and it can make your entire look. To keep from ending up with a messy line, it’s important to know how to apply it well. This guide will show you a quick and easy way to apply your eyeliner.
- To ensure that the eyeliner goes on cleanly, be sure that your pencil is sharp. Sharpen the pencil each time you use it- it will not only give you a neat line, it will take away any bacteria that have grown on the tip of the pencil.
- Put the index finger on your non-writing hand on the outer corner of your top eyelid. Close your eyes, and pull the eyelid tight. Start at the outer corner, and draw light dots all the way across the top lash line.
- Dip an eyeshadow brush into a shade of eyeshadow that closely matches the color of your eyeliner. Tap off any excess shadow, and gently dab it on the upper lash line to connect the dots that you just drew. This will give a soft, smoky look as opposed to the harsh line you’d get if you just used the pencil.
- With the remaining shadow that’s on the eyeshadow brush, apply it to the lower lid, right underneath the lashes. Again, start at the outer corner and work inward toward the middle of the eye, and stop a little less than halfway across the lash line.
Applying eyeliner isn’t as simple as it looks, but if you follow the tips we gave you above, you will be able to create a smooth and polished look that’s not at all harsh. Then, you’ll be able to create a variety of looks, from office casual to a night out on the town.
